Dear Baby Bean:
Hello there little one! I am sorry that it has been so long since I last wrote to you. I knew that the holidays would be busy, but I had no idea just how busy they would be! I'm going to try to catch you up on everything that happened to us between Christmas and New Year's. We had so much fun and can't wait until you are here to celebrate with us next year.
The Sunday before Christmas we went to Aunt Carrie and Uncle Pete's house for the extended Terry family Christmas. It was so much fun to see all of our aunts, uncles, and cousins as well as Grandma Carol and Grandpa Jeff. Tenley wore a pretty dress that Grandma Carol gave her and ate lots of mashed potatoes and corn. We did a lot of visiting and playing, and then it came time for Grandma Carol's pass the package story game. That is always a lot of fun and your sister ended up getting a box of Mac & Cheese, your daddy got a nifty tool belt for his wrist, and I got a towel to help my hair dry. These may sound like funny gifts, but each one fit our personalities exactly.
The next day was Christmas Eve and we started the day at Grandma Carol and Grandpa Jeff''s for lunch. It was so fun being there with everyone- you should have seen that living room! There were so many gifts that it was hard to even walk around. We had a yummy lunch of turkey, mashed potatoes, corn, stuffing, rolls...you name it, we had it! Afterwards we did our gift exchange which was awesome. You even got some great gifts- and you're not even here yet! Once we were done opening gifts, we relaxed for a bit before packing up and heading out.
After leaving the Terry Family Christmas, we made the long drive to Grandma Cindy and Grandpa Rand's house to spend the rest of the Christmas holiday. The great thing was that Uncle Brandon, Aunt Sarah, Lucy, and Daisy were all visiting and had been there for a few days so we got to see them right away. We stayed up super late to go to church and didn't go to bed until it was already Christmas morning! On Christmas we got up and ate a yummy breakfast (it's a tradition at Grandma Cindy's) and then opened the piles of gifts under the tree. Once again, you got some gifts and you're not even born yet! Grandpa Rand and Grandma Cindy gave you a super cute little owl outfit and they gave Mommy and Daddy a new Ergo baby carrier so that you can ride next to us in style. After we opened gifts, it was time for your sister to take a short nap and then we headed to Great Grandma and Great Grandpa Walter's house for our last Christmas celebration. We had yet ANOTHER big, awesome dinner and spent the day laughing and having fun. Once we were all tired out, we went back to Grandma and Grandpa's to watch a movie and go to bed. It was a GREAT Christmas.
The day after Christmas is Uncle Brandon's birthday but it was kind of a bummer because I was very sick all day long. I was worried about you because I felt so crummy, but I spent most of the day either in bed or on the couch trying to feel better. We were supposed to go to Fort Wayne to meet Uncle Glenn, Aunt Sharon, Sarah, Aaron, Kelly and the boys but the weather was really bad and we decided to stay home. It was probably better that way because the roads were dangerous and by the end of the day none of us was feeling well. It was a very low key day and nice to be at home.
The next day was the day that Uncle Brandon, Aunt Sarah, Lucy, and Daisy had to leave. It is always so fun to see them but so sad to see them go. They had to drive all the way to Sarah's mom's house in Charleston to celebrate Christmas there and we were so glad that we could have them home for a few days. The next time we see them, you might be here- how exciting!
The rest of the week was spent laying low at Grandma and Grandpa's house. Daddy had a big basketball tournament and he ended up winning the championship game on Saturday night! I wish Tenley and I could have been there to see it, but Saturday was also Grandma's birthday and we went to Fort Wayne to celebrate. I am so thankful that we are usually able to be with Grandma on her birthday to help her celebrate. Sunday we were supposed to go to church, but I was once again feeling under the weather and didn't get to go. I was very disappointed because it was my last chance to see Great Grandma, Great Grandpa, Uncle Terry, Adam, Lindsay, and Aunt Lou before we had to go home and we weren't able to see anyone. That was the biggest bummer about this trip home- we barely got to see any family for very long because we were sick. We ended up heading back to our house on Monday which also happened to be New Year's Eve. Once we were home, we unpacked and put things back in order. Grandma Carol came over to watch Tenley and Daddy and I went out to dinner and a movie. I hated to be a bummer, but I was asleep before the New Year even came!
Now it is 2013 and we are finally in the year that you will be born! This year is going to bring so many changes and wonderful surprises and we are so looking forward to having you with us to experience them. Please just keep growing big and strong in there and know that we love you very much- and Happy New Year!
Here are some pictures from our holiday adventures:
Tenley wasn't too sure of Santa this year so Mommy got to get in on the Santa action
Daddy and Tenley were a little sleepy after Christmas Eve service- but they made it through!
Tenley really liked the Christmas tree at Grandma Cindy's house and her headband was given to her by Grandma Carol

Here's a little sneak peak of our Christmas tree- you have to see it to believe it
Next year you'll be opening gifts right alongside your sister!
